Soterasiel Ban'draeil, also known as Tera, was born and raised in Eversong woods just outside of Silvermoon City. She was born a few years after the Scourge Invasion during what is now known as the Midsummer Fire Festival. At an early age she showed signs of being able to call and bend the element of fire to her will. Her parents, who were not as blessed using magic as she was, had her train under a good friend of theirs who was a mage and also Tera's godfather. Tera's mother and father died when they had left for reasons she cannot remember. Her godfather took her in and raised her as his own. He also continued her training, helping her expand her ability to control and cast fire magic.

Tera was soon a young woman and of age to move out of her godfather's home and to go out into the world to start a new kind of training. She needed to get out and see the world around her and use her abilities to do what she thought was right. Traveling around Azeroth, but usually returning home to Silvermoon City, she learned many more things about her skills and the world around her, along with things about the other Horde races. She spent a lot of her free time in the Tauren city of Thunderbluff, mainly for its tranquil setting and the open sky which she found more enjoyable than Silvermoon's tall buildings that seemed almost claustrophobic compared to Silvermoon. This opened up Tera's respect and curiosity for the other races of the Horde and she was soon preferring their company over that of the blood elves who she had spent her entire life around.

Tera would be left on her own when her godfather would be called to the newly placed city of Dalaran, in Northrend. He had told her she had learned all he could teach her under him and that she was free to continue on her own or to seek out a new teacher. It took Tera some time before she accepted a new teacher to learn under. She chose another mage, who she had been acquainted with at some point in time. Her new teacher had a different way of training her and thought that she needed to find a balance in her spells. Since then, Tera has trained with both ice and arcane spells to keep herself "balanced." She continues to train on the field and also can be found reading in a quiet place to expand her knowledge of different things.

It wasn't long until Tera was able to travel up to Northrend herself. She first helped the Royal Apothecary Society in Howling Fjord. She did not ask questions when retrieving mysterious barrels from an Alliance attacked ship but after being asked to "test" this new plague on Alliance ships out in the ocean, she had regrets about helping. About to depart, the camp was visited by scrouge and what she found out was a San'layn. She was then asked to venture into Utgarde Keep to slay the scrourge there. She did so after joining a group that had also witnessed the scene and they stormed the keep slaying everything inside.

Afterwards, she decided to leave the Howling Fjord and travel to the other side of Northrend to the Borean Tundra where she was instantly put to work protecting and rescuing peons for Warsong Hold inhabitants. She learned soon that Garrosh Hellscream was wanting to go out in full war with the Alliance. Again Tera questioned whether she should remain where she was. In the end, she decided to do what was best and help and complete quests and missions for all that needed them there.

Tera hopes to become strong and worthy enough to be able to make her way to Dalaran in hopes of finding her godfather... if he is there.
